Coed Baseball

The coed baseball program is dedicated to fostering good sportsmanship while teaching the game of baseball to boys and girls. Our volunteer coaches provide positive instruction while providing a fun, safe environment that builds community and teamwork around baseball.

There are seven divisions for players from 5 to 17 years of age. Each division has different rules and play on different sizes of fields appropriate for the level of skill expected by players of similar ages.  The divisions include PeeWee (5-6 year-olds), Pony (7-8), Cub (9-10), Bantam (11-12), SuperBantam (13 and under), Grasshopper (14 and under), and Freshmen (17 & under).

Each year coaches assess the skill levels of each player so that teams can be balanced for fair competition. Each year ratings days are held in early January and late February. Please see the Ratings Day schedule for more details.

Registration begins in the winter for a season that begins in the spring. To register your child please download and complete the registration form and mail it in, or bring it to Ratings Day.

For contact information please see the Coed Baseball page.    back to top

HUSKIES Travel Baseball

The HUSKIES program is SFX Youth Sports’ travel baseball league. The Huskies play competitive baseball throughout Brooklyn, Long Island, and New Jersey. In 2007 nearly every age group won a championship, playing in leagues throughout Brooklyn and beyond.

Because of the competitive nature of the HUSKIES program, not all players who try out for the team will be placed on the roster. Players who are accepted onto the team should recognize that a significant commitment is required by both players and parents. Teams may practice several times each week, with games on weeknights and multiple games on weekends.  Parents are asked to review the parent contract and make a commitment to the HUSKIES for the duration of the season.

Registration begins in the winter for a season that begins in the spring and continues through the summer. To register your child please download and complete the registration form and mail it in, or bring it to Ratings Day.

For more information please see the HUSKIES Travel Baseball page.    back to top

Girls Softball

The girls softball program is a league dedicated to fostering good sportsmanship while teaching girls the game of softball. Our volunteer coaches provide positive instruction while providing a fun, safe environment that builds community and teamwork around softball.

There are three divisions for players from 8 to 15 years of age. Each division has different rules and play on different sizes of fields appropriate for the level of skill expected by players of similar ages.  The divisions include Mustang (8-10 year-olds), Bronco (11-12), and Colt (13-15).

Registration begins in the winter for the season that begins in the spring. Each year coaches rate the skill levels of each player so that teams can be balanced for fair competition. This year ratings day will be held on February 10 for all Softball players, at the Lyceum of Saint Francis Xavier Church on President Street between 6th and 7th Avenues.
